My name is Danko but in internet communities, I’m more commonly known as Djoker. Since first playing basketball, I fell in love with the sport and became a fan for life. For about 20 years, I’ve been frequenting forums discussing the game. Some of you may know places like HoopsHype, Hoops-Nation, Insidehoops, and RealGM. I’ve been active on all of these boards at one time or another and have learned a ton about the sport I love over the years and had an unbelievable amount of fun doing it. I became a student of the game and was always passionate to learn about past eras, about the players before my time. I wrote articles, tried inventing new metrics and dug up box scores out of newspapers, some of which ended up on Basketball-Reference. These days, I track games from legendary players to collect data that can help evaluate their impact and shine a light on their talents.
The reason I decided to create this website is to provide a hub for historical stats from before the Play-by-Play (PBP) era that started with the 1996-97 season. Basically this site will have all the goodies from the past eras like ON-OFF, shooting charts and defensive metrics that you cannot find on Basketball-Reference.com or anywhere else. On here, you will find all of it, from many different sources, all in one place. This is a work in progress and I welcome your feedback to improve the site. Over time, I want to highlight many more players, have many more stats and improve the user experience. Oh and most importantly, it is free and will always be free.
I hope you guys enjoy using this site as much as I enjoyed creating it! 🙂
